Operation
The utilities are operated under the supervision of the Public Utilities Superintendent who is directly accountable to a three-person Public Utilities Commission. Each member of the Commission is appointed to the position by the Mayor and City Council.
Utilities Goals
  1. To supply competitive cost/quality service to Detroit Lakes area residents, business and industry.
  2. To enhance the development of Detroit Lakes by providing necessary utility requirements when and where needed both today and in the future.
  3. To protect, promote and preserve the utility systems in order to provide future generations with these essential and cost effective community services.

Becky Renner and Curt PuntSuperintendent

Becky Renner is the Public Utilities Secretary and has been with the City since July 1, 1977.

Curt Punt is our Public Utilities Superintendent and has been with the City since June 15, 1992.
